A Super Visa is a specially devised program for Canadian citizens or permanent residents to connect and stay close to their families. It allows parents and also grandparents to live with their family members in Canada for a stretch of maximum up to 2 years. It is a multi-entry visa that stays valid for up to 10 years.
Super Visa – Eligibility
- Must be a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Possess a signed letter from the child or grandchild inviting them to Canada and also stating:
- Financial backup for the entire period of stay
- List of people in the household of the Canadian resident/citizen
- A copy of the invitee’s Canadian citizenship or residency documents
- Possess medical insurance which has been paid for with a minimum coverage of $100,000 and is valid for 1 year or more
